Management Team
Ron Capilla
President and CEO
Ron Capilla is graduate of California State University at Chico and holds the contractor’s license for Can-Am Plumbing. As president, he is responsible for all operations of the company. Industry activities include chairing the Apprenticeship Training School for Plumbing Heating and Cooling Contractors (PHCC) and serving as director and chairman of the Construction Construction Alliance (CCA) of PHCC. He has also served as a director of the Home Builders Association (HBA), The Martin C. Kaufman One Hundred Club of Alameda County, the George A Spiliotopoulos (GASIT) Scholarship Foundation and the Hopyard Charitable Golf Tournament supporting the ValleyCare (Hospital) Foundation. He is married with two children and a lifelong resident of Pleasanton, CA.
Michael Capilla
Vice President – Materials
Mike Capilla is a co-owner and director of Can-Am Plumbing. He graduated from California State University – Chico and supervises all purchasing and materials management functions of the Company. He is experienced in all aspects of procurement, including determination of quantities required for best pricing, lead times for difficult to acquire items, and scheduling of deliveries to meet all construction deadlines.
Martin O’Gara
Controller and Chief Financial Officer
Marty O’Gara is responsible for all accounting, treasury, contracts, insurance and human resource functions of Can-Am Plumbing. A graduate of Trinity University in San Antonio, he is a former certified public accountant with extensive experience with accounting, contractual and insurance issues in both residential and commercial construction. Married with three children, he was formerly employed with a Big Four accounting firm before joining the company almost 25 years ago.
Bob Swayne
Vice President and General Manager
Bob Swayne, our longest tenured employee, joined Can-Am Plumbing in 1976 as a journeyman plumber. As General Manager, he supervises of all field operations, oversees the hiring, scheduling and supervision of all field employees, and manages and approves all job estimates. His experience includes design and installation of plumbing systems in virtually all types of commercial and residential buildings including apartment and single-family homes, hotels, retail and industrial buildings, large multi-use structures and tenant improvement work. He attended Cal-State University, is a lifelong resident of the East Bay and is married with two children.
